Where Midnight Meets Noon: An Introduction

Welcome to the first entry of the Midnight Noon Studio blog.

I’m glad you’re here. This blog is intended to be more than just a portfolio—it’s a space where I’ll share the stories behind the lens, the philosophy of my craft, and the evolution of a passion that has been forty years in the making.

A New Chapter, A Familiar Lens

For over four decades, photography was the quiet rhythm beneath a fast-paced corporate career. While my days were spent navigating the financial world, my mornings, evenings, and weekends were spent chasing light.

Recently, I made a choice to trade the boardroom for the beauty of North Carolina. Since relocating to Wilmington, the change in pace has allowed me to turn what was once a lifelong obsession into a full-time pursuit of art. Midnight Noon Studio is the result of that transition—a dedicated space for intentional, professional photography that captures the world with clarity and depth.

Why "Midnight Noon"?

People often ask about the name. To me, it represents the two most dramatic points of the day—the quiet intensity of midnight and the stark, revealing clarity of high noon. My work thrives in those extremes. I’m interested in the moments where light and shadow are at their most honest, whether I’m capturing the historic textures of the Cape Fear region or the minimalist geometry of a city street.

What to Expect Here

This studio is a reflection of a life lived with an eye for detail. On this blog, you can expect to find:

Behind the Lens: Insights into my creative process and the technical side of capturing fine art.

Local Perspectives: A look at the unique landscapes and architectural beauty of my new home in the Carolinas.

The Curator’s Eye: Thoughts on collecting art, high-quality printing, and creating an intentional home environment.

Join the Conversation

Art is best when it’s shared. I invite you to explore the galleries, stay for a while, and join me as I document this "second act." This isn't just about taking pictures; it's about seeing the world with fresh eyes, one frame at a time.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
